Amazon.com Product Description
Whether you want to improve your posture, reduce back pain, or simply minimize your daily stress load, the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 inversion therapy table makes a terrific choice. Inversion therapy works by placing your body in line with the downward force of gravity. In the process, inversion elongates the spine, increases the space between the vertebrae, and relieves the pressure on discs, ligaments, and nerve roots. And less pressure means less back pain, as well as fewer headaches and neck problems. Inversion is ideal for people with persistent spine and muscle aches, in addition to athletes who frequently push their bodies out of whack through repetitive muscle motions, such as runners, weightlifters, skiers, cyclists, and golfers. Studies suggest that inverting yourself a mere 25 degrees for even a few minutes per day can have tremendous positive effects.

In addition to its EP-standard features, the EP-950 offers a number of upgrades over other Teeter EP tables. The table's ratchet ankle lock system, for instance, offers an easy-to-reach solution in addition to a triple-lock security feature. The table also includes EZ Stretch handles to help increase traction and enhance your stretching experience. To make your inversion more efficient, the table's EZ Angle tether strap lets you preset your rotation angles at 20, 40, or 60 degrees. This provides an easy guide to where the benefits of inversion begin and are fully realized. Finally, the table includes a new Ankle Comfort Dial that adjusts for smaller or larger feet, allowing you to find a comfortable and secure fit for your ankle clamps.

I wanted a high quality inversion table to compliment my other exercise equipment. High quality was important to me to provide SAFETY while inverted. The EP-950 meets my needs.
If you are considering an inversion table, the ease of locking and unlocking the ankle restraint is important. The reason I choose the EP-950 over the less expensive models is that the EP-950 has a longer handle to release your ankles. It is easier and more convenient than the other models. If you are having lower back pains and / or lower back strains; the longer handle of the EP-950 makes it easier to use. You do not have to bend over as much!

I had been seeing a chiropractor for nearly 2 years suffering with sciatica. Since the end of September 2009, I was barely able to get out of bed without severe back pain. Began seeing a Physical Therapist the end of October. He made some progress with me, but I was still having significant back tightness and any form of activity was out of the question. During one of my sessions with the physical therapist, he suggested that I look into the Teeter Hang-Up. I had seen the advertisement on TV and was rather sceptical. Pain has a funny way of making you try just about anything. So when I added up my bills for 1 month of seeing a chiropractor, it was the cost of the Teeter Hang-Up. Purchasing through Amazon was fast and easy and I had the unit in 1 week. It took 2 hours to put together. It would have been less but my back would not let me move any faster! I tried it that night and after 3 weeks of using this product twice a day, once around 6 am and once around 6 pm, I began to walk without pain, work without pain, even do home maintenance and moving of furniture without pain. My physical therapist no longer needs to see me and I no longer need to see a chiropractor. Just 10 - 12 minutes per session twice per day and I am able to function normally. This purchase is the best money I ever spent. One word of caution - If you have vertigo or get light headed if you are upside down, then this may not be for you. Also if you have bad knees or have broken your ankles, then you may also not want to use this. Since you hang by your ankles, your ankles bear most of your weight and you will also feel a slight pull in your knee area. There are several models to choose from. I have the 950 and love it! Very heavy duty! Can hold up to a 300 lb person and can accomodate someone 6'5" or smaller. Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table

After 6 weeks of dailey use, sometimes twice a day, I am still looking for the results from all those other 4 and 5 star reviews. Yes, it's well built and functions as expected, but back relief is no better than 10 minutes of back stretching exercises. Do not expect a magic bullet ... Teeter Hang Ups is not one.
My back pain is relatively new related to compression of the L5 disc. I had an MRI, had physical therapy, and discussed options with a back surgeon. The pain is general but always present, my motion and activities are not severely restricted, and I felt I was a good candidate for the Teeter Hang Up.
Every week, I hoped that relief from inversion would appear. But honestly, there has been no change. In addition to the TV commercials, the extremely positive feedback on Amazon sold me. So I may be the only unfavorable review, but I hope this helps offset so of the positive hype regarding this miracle machine. In fact, I wonder how independent all those positive reviews really are.
Included in the instructions are no less than 8 serious warnings of injury or death if used improperly. There is also a list of over 25 medical conditions you should not have before using the machine. This is not item you want to be stuck returning, so I strongly suggest you review this list prior to ordering. Amazon should include this information in the product specs, but does not. If you have any doubts, do not place an order. And, if you have motion sickness, dizziness, or headaches do not attempt inversion ... try something else.
It's just not worth it.

The table is very good quality and seems to work beautifully but I must say that if you're not mechanically inclined assembly is a challenge. The instructions are less detailed than desirable and the tools provided a bit more difficult to use than professional tools. I spent well over an hour assembling the machine but once I tried it I was delighted with how well it worked. As some other reviews indicated the table is a bit hard, so I made a little "pillow" to pad my head but since I'm only on it a few minutes at a time it's certainly fine. When I invert fully, it's a bit tender on my ankles but anything less than vertical is quite comfortable. I don't think you'll be dissappointed if you get this machine...just be patient about putting it together. It's definitely worth it. The only other "negative" is that it is a bit larger than I imagined, so it' currently in my bedroom which is a bit unsightly for my aesthetic, but it is worth it to be able to defy gravity. I haven't experienced a "miracle cure" yet for my right arm tingling that seems to be coming from a pinched nerve, but I certainly think inverting is super healthy and generally beneficial. I've only had the table for 3 days though. I think it's a very good product and would certainly recommend it.

I have only had this product for 1 month and during that month I have been in acute lower back pain with a herniated disk. After the pain subsided, I started using the EP-950 and you can really feel a good stretching of the spine at a 60 degree inversion. That's as far as I have gone so far. It's not a substitute for other muscle stretching which is critical in herniated disk recovery so you have to make sure to keep stretching core muscles too. So far I am happy with the product and assembly is pretty easy if you are somewhat handy. If you are not handy or good with assembly instructions, you may struggle a bit.
